Head Cleaning

I've pulled the rocker cover off my new engine and I was wondering what's the best way to clean all the oil gunk out of the cam gear and rockers etc? I want to clean the motor up as best I can before I put it in. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Petrol is good for cleaning oil off stuff just make sure you use unleaded cos I don't think aluminium heads like lead. The best way to clean the head however is to have it acid dipped by a engine place, but if your not planning on keeping this motor for long I wouldn't bother with that.

Just be careful not to push any of the gunk down into the oil galleries etc
