Headwork in 4.1

I have an XF with the 4.1 carby leaded motor. What would the benefits be in getting some headwork done to it?? How much power increase would i be looking at?? Whats a reasonable cost to pay?? I dont know much about the details of working a head so please pass on your knowledge.
BTW i should have extractors and an exhaust soon if that matters.

Thanks again
Dan
