so peed off! changed battery in fairmont (3.9 litre centre point) and then throttle control wasn't returning.. so got a new throttle control (think that's what it's called), chucked that in and it still isn't returning quick enough so revs are sky high. Called Ford and they reckon I need to take in the car for reprogramming as it needs to be reset to factory defaults as changing battery throws everything out!!!
I can't believe such an old car has such a high tech problem! Is there any way i can reset the idle?? or is that something for the experts??
already out of pocket for the unnecessary throttle controller. :(

woohoo!! all sorted!!! took the car for a 60km run, started and stopped a few times, changed through the gears and it seems to have reset itself!! i love my car again. :)
