I got a new alternator for my v8 Given to me on the weekend...i have NFI what its off though. Its a mitsubishi electric co one...so it should be off a magna or something...tho i do remember mitsubishi alternators being on EB falcons etc.

Anyway its a 100amp jobby - obviously something late model. Anyone on there own a late model magna?

The pulley that was on it originally was a 4/5 ribbed one - looked like maybe a serpentine belt.

It is only the plug im after - where i can get one from depends on what car its off!

I thought that EF went to 110A with coil pack and then back to 100 with dizzy on EL. My EL alternator is 100A. You don't have the following numbers on your unit do you?

The plug looks like the Molex plug I've got on my EL alternator too. I also need a new one but haven't really started to look around for suppliers. Ford may have them and charge $400,000 per unit. It isn't from an early e-series, they had a more oval plug IIRC and a 3rd connection to the regulator / rectifier board from the main plug. An auto electrician may be able to help you with the identification of the unit and a plug for it?

Well if you can't talk them down further I'll take 'em for that PM me if you have any luck. See what you can find. It looks like my connector in your photo at least. The housing looks like the 6cyl version. Same internals. Also found on AU IIRC.

yeah its a weird connector, might check out the old mans ef GHIA tonite...its a 6...any idea if itd be the same? Id imagine itd have a 110A though?

So whats the girls name/s? is there one or two there?

edit: its a pretty chunky connector - would be 1" x 3/4" approx...ring any bells?

Oh, and another thing. I found Mitsubishi helpful over the phone ( I had to speak with a recently appointed manager of something or other in Sydney ) if you want to determine what it's from by the numbers. He even explained how you can determine year of manufacture etc etc from the markings but I can't remember now.
