Ive got some power steering problems with my 1990 EA.

When I slow down to do a e.g a U Turn The power steering gets hard when nearing full lock. Its almost like there is no power steering when it reaches near to full lock.

Ive cheaked the fluid and thats fine.

I would really appreciate your help.

I would say your steering column is buggered, very common problem with EA's, replacement unit is from ED and will solve it for good :)

I have done two in both my EA's. 88 and 91 ones

I think they are about $170, and I did it myself so provided you can turn a spanner your will be right. Might pay to make sure that is infact the problem first though!

I took the EA down to a machanic and the power steering wheel that the fan belt goes around has Seized up.
