I am trying to remove the power steering pump in my ED XR8. The problem is that the Manual says remove power steering bolts and remove pump. The problem is, the only bolts I can see, sit behind the belt pulley. Solution: remove pulley, but the manual also says, the pump must be removed from the vehicle and placed in a vice to remove the belt pulley (to avoid damaging the pump shaft). Can anyone help me out. Yes You need a pulley puller! I hired/borrowed mine from the spare parts place.I go to often.It fits over the groove on the front of pulley,whatever you do DON"T damage the thread inside the shaft you will need it to put back on.Get instructions off them some are different...
I replaced the 3 bolts that hold pump on with allen head bolts..To make it easy for next person...

Thanks Graeme, I thought that was the case. Yeah, the new engine should be finished in a few weeks I hope!!!! I think I got the manifold off you at least a few months ago, so it has been a long time coming.
