One Ford Drone

I was going to get some Tri-Y extractors (Genies cause I like them) and my local exhaust dude said $790 fitted, which is fine. But then I decided I probably want the HPC Coat and when I asked about how much it will cost for these headers with the coat, he said $1180.

I've never really spent this much before in one go and I guess in the future I will be spending way more but I would just like to get someones opinion on HPC; is the coat worth it for what it is?

HPC coatings provide three benefits.

The first is appearance - subjective but they appeal to some.

Secondly, they ensure the exhaust produces less radiant heat - useful in racing applications but not a huge benefit on the street.

Thirdly, they are more resistant to corrosion although probably only on par with stainless steel.

For a $390 (or 50%) uplift I'd probably be passing.

I think that was exactly what I was looking for Russ, thanks a lot for that info. Another thing to note is that I didn't really realise that the coat is almost half the price of the extractors themselves installed! Hell, I could get those roller rockers for $400...

Why not try calling HPC yourself..I had a 460 set done a few years ago and cost was $260 done in silver..That is for both sides...Surely it hasn't gone up that much????

I have a set of Jethot coated Genies & have found they have a rapid cooldown property aswell as Definate lower underbonnet temps
