Hi guys,

My birthday is coming up on July 10, the Winton track day, and im thinkin of hittin mum and dad up for some new brakes for the AU for a present in time for the big day. What are some good brake upgrade packages and how much would i be looking at roughly?

Try Cebco Brakes if you want bigger brakes and calipers. They now have ADR approval

The Cebco brake upgrades (front) were around the two grand mark for the two piece.
Brembos will set you back $6300. Front and rear.

You may be able to get a set of AU2/3 XR premium brakes from a wreckers, or try "dba", they have some good aftermarket stuff

I went through the same thing a while ago since my factory rotors
were at the end of their life (90,000kms - not bad) on mu AU1.

Do a search on FF. I did a lot of searching, and my conclusion
was that the best value is DBA slotted rotors. I got front & back
supplied for $600 (I think). I then went for Lucas pads. These can
be bought at ABS Brake Centres. The Lucas pads don't stop quite
as well as my previous pads "Bedix Ultimate" but apparenttly they
are not as abrasive on the rotors. Also the ultimates made too much
dust, whereas the Lucas pads are heaps better, and my wheels look much
cleaner.

pretty sure you have an AU1 so putting au2/3 brakes on isnt really an option without serious work - therefore aftermarket would be a better option for the money
