My ea 4 spd holds the gears too long so even under light throttle it will clunk into the next gear, is this to do with the bands needing to be adjusted
have ya changed the diff ratio recently?
i was told that the autos are load dependant to work out the shift points, as i killed my 3.27 diff and could get a 2.92 verry cheap (tall eh!)
i decided not to get this diff as the car has to be driveable for ages like this so i got a 3.08, and yes it does shift a bit early
so that would mean if you changed from a 3.08 (standard 4 speed 6 cyl diff) to anything shorter it will hold the shift a little
although it shouldnt clunk best bet is to take it to an auto trans place
has the autogot plenty of fluid in it (my utes auto clunked when i got it back from a particulat engine work place in werribee - they forgot to put fluid in the auto ..... damn it was slamming!)
