HORSEPOWER TO KILOWATT CONVERSION

Hi
I own an ED XR8 Sprint which has been dynoed at 182 hp at the rear wheels. What does that convert to in kw at the flywheel? 195kw? Cheers

182hp equals 133kw.......

Would be hard to give accurate figure at flywheel, who knows how much power is lost through power train

so to get 195kw at flywheel would be approx 32% loss, which i thought would be pretty close

It's an auto, basically stock apart from Genie extractors, turbo mufflers. I've been given a conversion chart, and it looks like 182hp would convert to 136kw. What have autos in your club been dynoed at? Sorry, don't know type of dyno.

If its an Auto then 30-35% drivetrain loss can be expected.
So thats between 195-210Kw or so at the engine.
