Hey guy's from Europe.What is the sporty Mondeo that is on the road over there.We have an ST model down under that looks hot.The wagons look good on the road too.

Hi there ,

Yeah we got the ST too , there was a ST200 and ST240 not sure if the latter was that much more faster as they both had a tweeked version of the cougars 2.5 V6 but in deep metalic blue , wire mesh grill and 16 inch multi spoke alloys its an nice cruiser for a family car!!

Wish they would finaly pull out the stops and do a mondeo cosworth . I know the focus is on the way but its not quite the Q car that the seirra cosworth was . (just too obvious , I like the subtle touch , wolf in sheeps clothing and all that )

It sure as hell would be interesting to see what Cosworth could do with the V6 Mondeo.Imagine a turbo on it.

Theres a company over here called Turbo Technics who used to do a lot of Fords (at a cost) . The did the Capri 2.8 MkIII and jesus what a machine , it had a 50-70 in top gear comparable to a 911 carrera and that was part of the reports the press came back with not Ford themselves .

But the possibley the best they did was the Twin-Turbo 2.9 V6 that went into the Seirra XR4x4 and the Ganada Scorpio . Thaty Had to varients a 230 bhp and a 260bhp one lovely stuff!!!!

A turbo V6 Capri. Mmmmmm.That would be a ripper of a machine.

Once got offered a V6 twin turbo (�400) and was contemplating it seriously . The boy claimed it was a coswprth 24valve unit from a Granada scorpio . if this was the case the engine itself will develope 190bhp then an twin turbo on top this would have pushed out 260+ bhp

decided against it as the cost to rebuild the turbos and engine wasn't too bad but it was all the other stuff I needed to do to the car to handle the power was the problem , bigger brakes larger alloys and all that suspension work , this alone could have been thousands .

next time I'll be going the ford 302 route . Just such a lovely sound .

5.0 Ltr Capri sounds good.Would you be doing an engine refit to the one you have. Isn't there a South African Capri that came out with 5.0 standard. There are a number of Cortina's down here that have been V8'd.The Aussie Cortina's came out with stronger equipment already set up as they were sold with an inline 6cyl as an option.

That is what I am waiting for as well.I do like the Cosworth Escort alot but it was the Sierra for me because of it,s midsize.The Mondeo would be in the same bracket and I think would be a winner with Cosworth performance etc.

Just to let you know that the ST240 has never been released yet. Currently the ST200 still rules the roost.

has anyone done some serious engine work (ie cossie transplant or such like ????)
