How can I find out what the PIDs mean?

I am constantly befuddled when I look at data on our diagnostic scanner. They give stuff like SSA_SS1 and TSS_SRC...

What I'm looking for is a place online that can help me decipher what all of these things actually mean.

Sometimes, I can figure it out. I'm looking at the transmission and I know the ISS is the Input Speed Sensor and TC SLIP DSD (RPM) is Torque Converter Slippage, Desired (RPM).

I could keep listing lots of stuff that I just don't understand, but I would rather find a place that would explain what they are. Does such a place exist?

ISS SRC is input shaft speed sensor source which is the unfiltered input to PCM
SS1 -SSA is shift solenoid1 or A some transmissions call it A some call it 1
