Re: how long should i run in my new xr6t for

500k's tops.
And don't baby it too much in that time either.
Give it plenty of WOT runs in 3rd gear if its auto or 4th gear if it's manual from say 40kph to 110kph. It is important to do this in the first 50k's as it provides good ring seal.

Don't rev it past 4000rpm in the first 200k's.

Personally I would also dump the oil after 500k's, although Ford don't do this until after several thousand k's I believe.

yeah ill do that, i was going to change the oil at 500k's anyway its best i do that, so dont rev it more then 4000rpm before 200k's, so at about 500k's i can see what it pull it got

Drive it fairly hard, just avoid hard stops for the first 1000k.

You can't hurt these motors and if Heaven forbid something does break, you have warranty. Best to find any problems early.

Also while crusing take foot off throttle completly till speed drops say ? 10 15 Klrs to vary speed...Helps bed in rings and sucks oil into ring lands...For the first 500 Klrs..Yes change oil with "mineral" oil...
