WHen I buy a car new or secondhand, ,most likely have to get a darker than factory tint on it (if 2ndhand and no aftermarket tint).
The dealers charge around $500 for it? Too much? What does Tinta-a-car ands places like that do it for? Any recomendations on a franchise to go to and type of tint to put on?
tint professor have the best tint, they offer lifetime warranty, free pickup and delivery or courtesy car.
I got 20% on the back window and 35% on the sides.
I would prob be able to get a falcon done for 250, just let me know minge. While i had my windows tinting, two of my friends got theirs tinted as well. So i guess they'll do you a deal.
Located in central Victoria.
There is different shades of tint, am I correct?
Looks as if I will go aftermarket tint if they do not drop the price at the dealers. Would be good to pick up the car and the tint was lready done though.
I paid $300 for mine, with a lifetime warranty, although the place I went to does charge less than other places do. He can do the base line of tint in any darkness for around $220 for a sedan.
There is different shades of tint available, the legal limit is 70% on the front 2 windows, and 35% behind the driver. 70% is virtually un-noticeable, and the police rarely pick on the issue anyway.

Sorry does that mean 70% dark, 30% light or vice versa?
I think that beyond a certain darkness, it is illegal. The one I got from Ford I ended up getting for free, it is pretty dark and I think as dark as allowed and I think there is some issue with having special metallic free tinting for the BA which doesnt interrupt the radio or something coz the aerial is embedded in the back window.... I am not sure about this but it might be worth checking out....
As a side note, dont use Windex or anything similar on your tinting....

Doh, this topic has just reminded me of another "must do" for my car. Solace wanted $390 for their F1 tint which is supposidly the best.
On the thing though on the subject of tint, is there a place that tints windows without taking door trims, parcel shelfs off? Solace have good tint but i don't trust the mechanic to open and refit door trims.
Cheers,
Gary.
