Hey had transmission reco'd bout a year ago, and it doesnt seem smooth??

But the thing is i dont know if its normal, or if its becuase the other cars i drive have smoother transmissions??

is a EL 4 speed meant to be smoother than a auto VS commodore? well my EL isnt??

kickdown isnt smooth either. Say in 4th gear, give it some gas, its not a smooth shift.

its still under warranty what should i do?

I've never driven a VS communist, so I don't know, but the EF/EL series normally have very smooth up/downshifts. I would take it back and get them to check it out. If there is a bad fault it should set a code.

My ED is smooth - if driven gently you can feel the changes like hitting a small head wind. Sort of a little slur then away you go. Under moderate throttle its less noticable, and under full throttle its very abrubt!

Fault code I would imagine TopGhia means. If there is a fault that the tranny computer recognises it should put out a fault code to the mechanics when they check out your tranny again. I would take your car straight back to them and get them to fix your problem. They will probably say that it is fine just to get you to leave, but push them and say your not happy and that it is not as smooth as it should be...

Yeah, on the EL, there are 11 different fault codes that can be set for the transmission. These can be read from the diagnostic output.
