fuel pump couldnt suck the petrol up hill, vacuum lock in the tank and cause fuel pump is old didnt supply fuel.

Ok i am just guessing, but ya never know.

check the fuel pump - replace fuel filter - maybe try some petrol treatment in case of fuel contamination (which causes fuel filters to block very quickly or needle & seat to stick)

Injectors work? It could be a power supply problem, as they all take power from a common - actually forget that, other sensor use that wire and the car wouldn't run on gas either.

Fuel pump/filter/regulator would be my 1st guess.....

Does it happen whilst turning hard corners? sounds like the float levels are set too high, you did say carby right?
