Dont the heads have a "T" stamped on the front of them below the rocker cover?

Re: i dentifyind a ef xr6 and sunroof problem

I just went and checked mine.

Nothing stamped on the rocker cover itself (it being red) and couldn't see the head due to the belt cover being in the way.

I check the plates and I have ENGINE-X and TRANS-K

I assume the engine codes would be different, but other than that you could run it past www.myford.com.

Case.

Its a real one! Engine code X is Tickford 6 and Trans code K is manual. If you take that belt cover off there will be a big T on the front of the head.

You'd be spewing if you were "that guy". I can't imagine someone taking an XR6 head off to replace it with a stocky on purpose.

Enjoy your new purpose. Looks like you have a manual. No matter what people tell you, they're a fun box. Mines done 220,000 and still is strong. A little scary in the wet on fast corners... be careful on the downchanges into corners... compression lockups aren't as fun at 90km/h into a corner.
