...my hand brake.

One day im pulling (haha) into a car park, and i stop the car. pull up the hand brake and i thought i pulled it too far or something.

Get in the car later on. put the hand brake in and it felt really hard to push back down. Anyways now it wont pull up anymore. So i dont have a handbrake.

Now it is an ED so the handbrake is in that wierd under the dash position.

Any ideas / cheap fixes?

seriously... check the caliper to see that crap and corruption isn't stopping the lever from returning (voice of experience)

I would bet that the front part of the cable has frayed and got jammed in the mechanism, check down at the base of it at the firewall and see it you can see threads of wires sticking out.
Its common, ive owned 2 Falcon's and they have both done it at ~150k kms, its pretty cheap and easy to fix though.

I broke the plastic handle of my under dash hand brake lever on the XD and was surprised to buy a brand new one from Ford for only about $30
I,m with Martin and think your problem is more likely up the front

is the car auto or manual, if its an auot then dont worry about it, having it in park is more than adaquate and thoose park brakes are known for stuffing up, I never use the one in my EB !
