I have a problem with my idle.What happens is when I sit at the lights or idle for awhile suddenly the the car idle reall rough for a few secs then gos back to normal.I have an ef2 fairmont wagon could it be the isc solenoid which adjusts the idle. I have cleaned it but its still the same

disconnect the isc and hold the throttle at about 650revs if the car idles normal the isc is stuffed last time I bought one from the wreckers it cost me $40 I think they are about $160 new, also you could try adjusting the base idle slightly

I think that this is what is happening to my NF Fairlane II. Does it just miss fire for a second and then run allright and then do it again maybe 10 seconds later? Mine does it sometimes and then not again. I took mine to Ford and they did a diagnostic check and said there was no faults. It is still happening.

shorsfall, dude too me that sounds like an ignition problem of somesort. Checked for vac leaks?
