Idle and HOT weather.

only started happening today and being hot its probably related. the carby XF just doesnt want to idle after start up. this includes going to the supermarket, getting what i need and then it wont idle again. temp gauge is still normal, and after putting the boot into it for a bit (driving) it idles again, although the gauge says its only idling from 100-500RPM. when it was idling at 100rpm it surely didnt sound like it. sounded pretty close to normal but just not quiet. have been hitting up the aircon too (full bore!!) so maybe that has something to do with it?
what could be the problem? is it just coz its so damn hot or something else?
