I am getting an alarm put in my XF on thursday, its just a cheapie from strathfield its costing me $240 and they attach it to my central locking giving me remote central locking. Yay! Im only going a cheapie so the siren goes off when my car is touched and scares away car stereo theives.
Anyways i want to add an immobilisor or 2 to my car cos im not sure if the alarm im getting has one.
I was thinking about having 2 switches hidden in the cabin that could turn off power to the ignition coil and something else. Starter maybe??
How could i go about this? What gauge/amp wire should i use? What size switch could handle the current? Can a buy a kit that would just need wiring up?
What else could i attach a switch to to immobilise the car?
Should i use the positive or ground side for the ignition coil??

Thanks for any info and advice.

for the extra few $$$ get a full immob / alarm put in
you should get one for around $299, and it saves you mucking around with switches,

and also, if your car is stolen, with a proper alarm, you will be covered by insurance, with switches - you wont be.
