confused Immobilizer Woes...

Hey guys!

I've had a 1997 Ford Falcon GLi for a year now (love it), but I recently lost my keychain and the immobilizer deactivating button with it! Now every time I want to start my car I have to use the spare key and put in a combination, it takes about a minute to do. I'm not a car girl and I'm not really sure how I can go about getting a new button, or deactivating the immobilizer permanently, or what! Should I take it to an auto-electrician? Any advice would help. Thanks guys!!

Re: Immobilizer Woes...

I broke my button for my Honda and I went to the dealer and bought a new one for only about $50 and one of the service writers programmed it to work for free. Before I did that, I lost a key to one of my other cars and had AAA send out a automotive locksmith and I asked him about it and he said he could do it too. Auto Zone actually sells some of those buttons too, maybe they have yours. Hope this helps.
