Info on current Ford pedal boxes for EA - EB

Having just been lucky enough to have to replace my EA manual pedal box, the current part is an ED box which has a reinforcing flange where one of the switch bracket screws goes on the earlier ones, which means it has a different location for the clutch switch which can't be operated by the EA/EB pedal as there's a plate welded on the ED pedal to do it. So, if you too are lucky enough to have to do this fun job, your choices are: 1) Drill the ED box for the EA/B bracket, which will go right through the reinforcing plate flange but is probably OK (at close to $200 bucks for the box and having to pull it out again if wrong I didn't take the gamble); 2) weld a plate on EA/B clutch pedal; or do it the easy way and buy an ED pedal for about $20.
