hmm i'm gonna ask this question aswell..

looking at edelbrock upper/lower Performer 5.0.. $1100 new for the set. would it be better finding EL2 XR8 manifolds? or AU manifolds?

me personally i'm looking to more flow to support more horsepower high up(max of about 250-280fwkw), and i dont want to lose torque.

Previous ride: EBII V8 Manual Ghia spring roll.
Current ride: 1970 ZC 351 Fairlane Custom.. (estimated 350ftlb @ 2000rpm.. max torque 420ftlb at 4500rpm.. with standard exhaust manifold!)

The best value for money aftermarket intake would be the Edelrock Performer. They flow around 210cfm out of the box, enough for an easy 250fwkw, and should cost around $1100 as said, while maintaining low rpm torque.

The EL2/AU XR8's run the ford explorer intake which flows around 180cfm, but with a little work with a sanding roll on the lower can flow around 200-210cfm. If you can find one second hand, you'll probably pick it up fro about $500.

That's the hard part, finding one second hand! I find that most wreckers dont really want to part with it unless you buy the whole motor.

Anyone you can recommend in SA EDXR8?
