I've never touched the instrument cluster so I'm wondering if I can get any advice from you guys on this.
I was thinking of adding the oil and volt gagues from an S-pack dash to my digital dash. Its just an idea that popped into my head a while ago so I haven't looked into it at all.
battery and oil pressure are the only things that is included in the s-pack/fairmont which the upmarket models missed out on and I reckon they would look pretty sweet.
It goes without saying that I would have to do a bit of customisation to the instrument cluster to fit these two additional gagues on.
...and no, having big, hideous aftermarket gagues hanging off my dash is not an option.

Hey Zom - same thought has often crossed my mind without much exploration. Was driving a mates EBII Fairmont a few days ago and the dash was a change for me to say the least. Love the digital speedo and so on on the EA Ghia, but would also like to fit in the extra gauges from the non digital dash as well.
Anyway - good to see someone else is thinking 'stupid' thoughts as well. I've got to start concentrating on the road again - I keep playing with the readouts from the auto climate control when you kick it into the mode where it tells you the coolant temp and all that other great stuff........
Anyway - let us know if you do anything along these lines with the extra gauges.
Good idea Acid, but i'd like to keep all my instruments where they belong. I'm sure I can do a good and neat job of it, I just need to find out more about the wiring.

I'd be *VERY* interested to learn how to get the readouts from the climate control unit!!!!!!!!
Okay Zomwit... regarding the wiring, most of it is actually on a plastic sheet, similar to a circuit board, but very thin & flexible... You should be able to poke holes through for more wires though... :)
