Whats the differences between a pod filter system (pipe straight from intake to filter) and a std intake setup (large airbox) in terms of delivering airflow??
Is the airbox just to allow more air to be filtered or is there another reason for it? I have a CFI and was thinking about changing the intake but I think that there would be more benefit in making it like a pod filter system rather than using an EL airbox. This is going by the idea that most people get pod setups when they want performance - in my small view of performance cars...
So what I was thinking was using the standard tennis racquet setup and cutting off the intake pipe and replacing it with a far larger one so the air goes straight through and removing the CFI air filter and putting a pod filter at the start of the intake.
I know everyone says to just convert to MPI but this would be cheapish and require little technical knowledge...
