hey guys
in this months strathfeild sale there are some 6inch, 225 watt JBL splits. what are JBL like as a brand and does anyone have any experience with them? any feed back would be great guys.

JBL are ok in car audio as far as i know....i have alpine splits and dont think all that much of them so i mite give JBL a go next...

I have 6inch, 3 way JBL's in the back of my falcon, and when testing them on the wall, they sound bassier, and tighter than most of the kenwood 6x9's for the same price...

Although, you pay a lot for JBL compared to kenwood/sony etc.

I like them. Your mileage may vary...

i put 4in jbl's in factory position in the doorcards in the ea, they sound (tight) great and dont distort at all, ive blown the last 4 sets of cheaper speaker up so i will see how theese go

Depending on how much you can spend, I would probably be looking elsewhere, and NOT shopping at Strathfield.

The JBL's oughta be fairly decent, and for the price you can't go too far wrong.

If you've got a lot of money to spend I'd be looking in the direction of something like Boston Acoustics or the like but it'll start to cost big bucks

I know that JBL make some pretty decent home audio speakers, their monitor series are still used by the BBC in their recording studios. It think it depends on what price you are paying for them, and what model they are, I think their GT series are pretty good, and Strathfield do occasionaly have some cheap stuff, I got some speakers marked down from $369 to $200 when they were closing down nearby. Do your homework on them and compare then to other speakers in their test wall, running them all off the same HU and preferably without an amp (unless you will be running them off an amp). Also call a few other shops that supply JBL to check on the price.
I might be blind, but what price do you intend on paying for these?
