My nice new escort (eggcart i like to call em) has a tendancy to drift to the left when i engage the clutch pedal when i change gear up or down! I do not understand why as i have checked the wheel balancing and tracking!
This is not the whole story as the front end at the right also drops!
Can anyone please help???
This is a trully immaculate car that has been looked after all its life and just sold cheaply. The seller has no knowledge of this problem, or atleast he says not!

check the coil springs, very very common for them to break.

I've had all the suspension components checked and they are all in perfect working order!!!
I have been given the suggestions that it could be:-
Gear box
Engine mountings and/or
Gear box mountings!
Does anyone out there have any other suggestions or do you think that it's likely to any of the above?
Please please please please HELP!!!

What do you mean by the front end at the right also drops?
The 'drifting' could be a caliper hanging up, but since you imply it is when you gear up or down, it could be because it is front wheel drive.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
WAS NEARSIDE FRONT GEAR BOX MOUNTING!!!
IT ALSO LOOSENED THE OFFSIDE WISHBONE.
VERY EASY JOB.
