hey guys does anyone have the K&N air filter for their CFI tennis racquet set-up? Auto barn said it would cost me around $120 for one but is it worth it???
does it improve performance at all?? Or fuel economy?
I don't know much about air filters, etc but i'd say that you'd only really notice any difference at high revs but there wouldn't be much.. it'd all depend on what mods have been done to the engine otherwise..
I think someone did the calculations ages ago about the flow rates through the engine but i can't remember what the outcome was..
I doubt you would gain any increase in performance. The only real benefit would be that you wouldn't have to replace the filter because the K&N air filters are washable.
i seen a display on k & n filters in marlows the other day.
it was a clear platic box with a fan inside,a cutout for a panel filter and a vertical tube with a pin pong ball inside. the idea was with a normal paper filter in the cutout the air pressure in the box pushed the ball up the tube but with the k & n it was less restrictive so the ball didnt move up the tube at all.
but id imagine the difference you feel in the car would limited.
