leather

How does one go about repairing a worn area in leather where the colour has faded off? Is it possible? or should i replace it?

Had same problem on my Explorer. Auto trimmer replaced just that patch. After a couple of weeeks it matched .

how do they do that? wouldnt they have to pull the whole seat apart?

Yes they took the seat apart and just replaced the worn section.
Not so bad on an Explorer as the saet has many stitched panels
