I got an 89 EA Frmnt Ghia. All the lights started flashing and the car lost battery power and then 10 minutes later it was back to normal. Did it go into Limp Mode???? I should mention I had a Powerchip installed in it yesterday. Is it the ECU resetting itself or did it really go into Limp Mode? Please Help!!!!!!!

I thought limp mode was a auto transmission thing where the auto stayed in 3 or 2. Although an intermittant/low battery voltage will cause the transmission to go into limp mode.

Take it back to the installers and explain what happened, just to cover yourself if it does it again in the future.

Sounds like a short or poor connection somewhere.

Thanks. I found out that when having a Powerchip chip fitted to the EA's/EB's ya gotta have solder points built up on your ECU board for connection.
