Thinice, I assume you are looking at removing the air conditioning system? Depending on the laws over there, you probably have to get the gas reclaimed (it will probably be R12 which trashes the ozone). This will have to be done professionally - big fines over here if you get caught letting it off into the atmosphere!
Other than that, just unbolt the compressor, brackets, lines, receiver drier and condensor (behind the grill). To further clean it up, try to find a crank pulley from another non-aircon model. Further cleaning up can possibly include removing the engine driven fan and replacing it with electric thermatic types.
Personally, I'd try to get a replacement unit - aircon is nice in the summer (getting soft in my old age) and is great for demisting in winter!
