Mixing engine oil?

Whats the general consensus on mixing engine oils?

I have to top up my gf's VS but I have no idea what oil is in it currently.. And I don't feel like giving it a full change either..

Dan..

Re: Mixing engine oil?

As mentioned, better to mix it than have it low..Just go with a 15/40 or 20/50 oil .

Re: Mixing engine oil?

it takes less than 10 minutes to do a quick oil change, just change it.

Re: Mixing engine oil?

If you really can't be assed changing it - put in a semi-synthetic in to top it up.
