Broke out the spanners and made a few more changes......

Out with one set of 1.60 roller rockers and in with a set of 1.70 to increase lift at the valves. Now we need another tuneup!

EBXR8240:
Mate, started her up and no banging so I guess there's clearance eh? No piston-valve conferences yet!
Seriously though, these heads are matched to dished pistons on my engine and that guarantees me 0.650 valve lift (if not 0.700) clearance with no problems whatsoever provided I use Trickflow/Crane cam. Since I am now at only 0.530 lift I still have miles to go.

Thought that would be better than fishing sockets out of the cylinders he he he. Until I remembered that turning the engine over sucks air and causes said gaffer tape to strain and stretch into the lower manifold. A few breather holes later and she's alright! That's what you get for doing engine work the day after your brother's buck's day and your head feels like a crushed Jim Beam and Coke can!
I guess the tuneup will smoothen things out. But can you tell any improvement in performance with the 1.70 roller rockers.
