My EF is sick - Trasmission Problems
I had the rear of my EF jacked up this morning to investigate a knocking noise (it happened to be my new exhaust knocking against one the the suspension bars). But when i put the car down, started it up and put it in drive it made a strange whirring noise then stopped so i thought nothing of it. Drove down the shops it was fine. drove home fine. but the next time i go to use the car the whirring noise comes back. Only in RD123 it makes the noise. whines most of the way to third gear then it stops. If i got on it a bit then there is a slight noise. I havent had it up to fourth, to scared. i just limped it home. Is this noise coming from the stall converter or is it some terminal gearbox noise. Or is it just short of fluid, there has not been any other problems with the box and it seems to be changing gears fine, just a sick wallet painful grinding noise.
Any help is appreciated.
