Hey Guys,

Just picked up my new 97 EL Futura, to replace the aging EA 5 speed CFI... this will be my new tow car.

I'm about to do the initial service, all the usual including the full coolant and transmission fluid flush (and installed the trans cooler at the same time). Is there anything else specific I should check / replace straight up?

Also, how does the EEC V function when the battery has gone flat? I know on my EA I had to re-cal the idle throttle position and then it tuned up over a few days... same thing with the EEC V (no throttle re-cal I guess though)? Any links to info on the computer?

I've got an EL sedan and had the battery disconnected for most of one day while me and a mate installed my stereo. When we reconnected the battery it started fine first go as if nothing had happened.

I think all that happens is that the ECU forgets your driving habits when it's not powered for 30 minutes or so. When you drive it afterwards it will just relearn your driving habits/style, adjust for any mods and the fuel you use. I'm sure other on here can correct/expand on that.
