Has anyone used these globes and got any opinions on them?? I saw some in at marlows for $30. There gonna go into an EL.

Or how do the brilliant white ones(i think) or the coloured blue ones go??

And has anyone upgraded just the high beam globe to higher wattage without any probs?? I know that the lowbeam turn that yellowy colour.

I don't know about them, but if you use non-standard bulbs it is the lens itself that is affected by the extra heat. The workshop manual specifically warns against this.

dont change the wattage of the globe as you'll melt the backing of the headlight!

go for the blue light globes as have seen them at night in a friends ef and they are heaps better than my standard el ones

Ive been using the 30 plus globes for acouple of years now, they produce more light, but no more heat.

I assume the 50plus are the same.

I find them good but in the rain. [Thats when water fulls from the sky in droplets] The light strength seem to disapate into the rain.The globes I have are blue.I find it hard to see in the rain compared to daylight.Notice the difference when on high beam the spot lights are 100w quarts the light penetrates rain easier or seems to...Yellow may be better!!!

yeh i might just get the 50+. There not overly expensive, and it can only be an improvement.

I use to have 90/100 in my XF. Needless to say, the beams on the EL don't compare that well....

What does 50+ refer to? The standard bulbs for EF/EL are 55/60w.

50+ means 50% brighter at the same wattage. And there is also no increase in heat.

30+ is the same but 30%!!

And the annoying thing with the EF/EL headlights are that they are not H4. Meaning that there is only one highbeam globe, unlike the earlier models. I think that the ghia's and f/laines had the H4.

Why did ford do this??

I have been using the Philips +50s for a while now and highly recommend them. Blue globes are WOFTAM! Rubbish stuff!

Are the 50+ globes $30 each or for two??
My EL lights are not too bright and the lenses going yellow dosent help either
