I have an NC with 302w, entire thing is stock 193k on the clock.
my dad has an EF wagon 4l, entire thing is also stock, just ticked over 100k. Both are auto, both run fuel from the same place.
me and mum wanna take em out to a set of lights somewhere and see who will be off the line first and be able to hold out in front, what are your thoughts?

No because the 5L's are still restricted to 165kw, and even though the peak power and torque would be higher, the EF I6 engines are well developed and have a very wide power band giving them better acceleration.
what about over say 10kmls? who would come out in front?

Still the EF I would imagine. The stock V8 only has a small power advantage but you will loose that advantage because of the weight. I think EF will jump off the mark a bit quicker and maybe pull a car length to 100kph then continue to just creep away from the NC.
:( im depressed now
although after todays incident im not sure i want/need anymore power
well what about my mums stock EA wagon 3.9l cfi?
