hey guys,

I am doing a school assignment, as I am writing this, and I need to know what the factory specs where for fuel consumption for a AU2 falcon 6 cylinder. And not as important but if possible, the LPG specs. If some one knows the factory specs, not there own experience it would be great, I think ford have taken it off there web site now.

The govt. cycle test was either 11/100 or 11.5/100, if knwone ansers here, wander down to a Ford dealer, they should have a few new AU's around with that govt. energy sticker thingy on the windscreen.

The book i have doesn't have AU but it does have EF2.
6 cylinder auto 12.5l/100 city...7.4l/100 h/way

Factory spec for AU2 Sedan with the base 6cyl petrol engine and 4sp Auto are:

City Cycle: 11.5 Lt/100k (24.6 MPG)
Highway Cycle: 6.8 Lt/100k (41.5 MPG)

My own experience (I keep a log book)...

City (off peak) or suburban driving I consistently get 25.5 MPG (11.1 Lt/100k) but that's taking it nice and easy.
On open highway I can get 40 MPG (14.2 Lt/100k) at 100-110Kph. But by the time I go through a few towns etc the overall trip figure is around 36 MPG (7.8).

So I think the factory figures are not too far off the mark but you have to drive very sedately.

My old man drives a AU2 Forte Dedicated LPG, pretty sure the specs are 15l/100k City and 9.0/100k Highway.

These specs from our experiance are pretty accurate for city, Highway worked out about 8L/100k i think for Melb - Syd - Melb in AU2 LPG

I drive an AU1 Dual Fuel Forte, not sure about highway yet but city i do around 15/100k, it's not Tickford though, I had it fitted after I bought the car ex fleet (42.000km) by the dealer so it's a Parnell. Bugger they don't retrofit the tickford kit but from what I've heard the Parnell although losing a little power handles dirty gas better.
