As the title suggests, i let my friend take my 1 month old ED V8 for a drive, and wouldnt you know...they smashed into a gutter going at about 30km/h, or so i was told...

The front passenger rim is stuffed, and now the car pulls to the left under braking. The tyre is now also off castor/camber as well...

Could my Chassis have bent?? ..

More than likely the wheel allignment is out and the suspensions bent also. I'd empty your friends wallet of $ to get it fixed.

he will be coffing out for it...otherwise he will be an Ex Friend...

What worried me is that i took it down to my local mechanic after the incident and he hinted that the chassis could have been damaged...it hasnt been pulled apart yet to do the full diagnosis..

It still drives perfectly straight...but under braking starts to veer to the left.

So sorry to hear of the damage. I'd be chasing the money but it can also fall under a similar flag to 'Only lend money to people if you don't need it back' banner. I've only ever let One very good friend (with hipo ford experience) drive my car and i was in it. Obviously the Girl gets to drive it now and then. She doesn't like to though as it's a bit of a hand full for her (lead foot).

Best wishes to you for getting some $$ back. Don't trade the friendship in too lightly though, you might regret it once the storm passes.

Take it to a suspention place.Sounds like you have lost some caster and obviously camber...May have bent steering arm...
I doubt the chassis is bent...

When the chassis is bend you will 80% of the time get a cracked windscreen. Giving your car to someone else is like lending your girlfriend to someone else. I made the mistake once, he reved the crap out of it, fan felt broke, idiot drove 10km with the needle on HOT then decided to pull over when the radiator hose blew. Damage? new fan belt, new heater hose plus reco head as one of the headbolts snaped.

I cannot believe you ppl giving your pride and joy to someone else!

i only let my very very good friends drive my car, even tho its not hipo, its fast enough to do some damage. Oh and I'm always in the car.
