Hey, i was wondering, the 4 speed auto in my eb fairmont is really annoying, like, it works fine, i just dont like it *shrugs*. If i were to put something else in it (c4 perhaps?) preferably not an electronic box. What would that be like a) pricewise and b) power difference wise?

not sure about what non electronic box to go for, but if you go that way you will need a new computer i would expect

Assuming his is an EB1 from his sig being 91, the auto will have a seperate computer. Only when the 4.0 engines came in did the Engine ECU and Trans ECU become combined into one.

yer its a series one....and it has a separate auto chip....so yer....what auto box would you guys reccomend asside from the 4 speed electronic one?

What are we talking about here? V8 or six?
I don't know why you don't like the electronic auto? They are much better at knowing what gear to be in at any given speed/load than a non-electronic auto. If you changed to a non-electronic gearbox you would probably find you don't like it.

All EA to Series 1 EB six cylinders have separate BTR trans ECU.
Also all V8 up to EL have separate BTR trans ECU.
For AU the engine and gearbox are both controlled by the EECV in all cases.
