G'day all.

I work early mornings and on cold starts first thing there's a knocking sound coming from the motor.

It dead set sounds like lifters, but isn't coming form under the rocker cover. It increases speed with the motor, sometimes goes away, and comes from the injector side of the motor, towards the rear (It's an EB 4.0).

I know injector noises, but this sounds louder that what they should be.

It's always there to some extent and it's bloody annoying. Any suggestions lads?

Oh I forgot, it does it when warm as well.

If the CANP (Cannister Purge Valve) is sitting on the chassis rails rather than in thin air supported by the hoses you will hear a tapping as it opens and closes.
