Just bought a used Econoline and think the odometer reading is not correct. Any way in Texas to check true odometer reading?

Odometer reads 78K but title reads 150K+ and dealer gave a sob story about an "error".

Dealer wrote 79K on back of title and signed it.

Is it digital? or analogue?

If its analogue, and theyve just wound it back, the numbers might not line up properly.
Otherwise stuffed if i know.

Ring ya local licencing centre and see if they can tell ya. Might have old reading from previous sales

Yea. Look for numbers that don't line up evenly. With more effort, remove the speedometer from the dash and look at the backside where the mileage counter reel is. Look for obvious markings or evidence the screws or twisted tangs have been turned. Also check the dial of the speedometer face. Look for dirty finger prints or scratches.
