oil presure guage

hey all,the oil guage on my 86 fairmont is flashing on sometimes when i drive it 4 a while but it jumps up and down bars all the time, could this b seriouse???

Does this happen when going around corners or taking off or braking quickly? If so..see above post.

Otherwise if the level is ok on dipstick..check your sender.

Check oil presure first but this model had problems with the oil sender unit so it maybe this that is causing the probelm.

it happens just any time not when going round corners or anything and yes i checked the oil that was the first thing i done!!! but i will take it up 2 the mechanics 1day this week.... i might be getting the motor rebuilt soon so i will see what it is anyway! but THANX 4 ALL THE HELP ITS GREAT :)

Check electrical conections as well. Including battery and earth's..

mine does this, temp guage goes up, volts flash, oil pressure flashs, and the fuel guage tells me im empty driving out of the servo after drinking 60 odd litres...doesnt always do it, but whenit does i just tap the plastic that covers the dash and it behaves, might get around to getting it looked at one day though...any ideas whats loose or not working anyone??
