Hello,
I am having an overheating problem with my 1.25 Zetec 16v fiesta freestyle 2001 model. The engine appears to overheat, with the temp dial going up into the red, but the engine does not feel in the slightest hot. The fan will quite often come on also after only a short journey, very loudly.
I also get on the odd occasion hot air being blown back into the car from my heater vents, even when the heating switch is off and the dial is to the cold end. The other eveing I had to pull over because I could hear what sounded like boiling water comming from the heater behind the dashboard. My Fiesta at times also feels sluggish as well and pinks when the is no need to (as I am not going up any steep hills in the wrong gear!).
Does anyone think this is a major problem to fix, as I have already had one Ford dealer tell me there was no problem with the car and even suggested the theory of drilling a hole in the old thermostat and putting it back in!! - I feel like there is no air or water possibly being circulated around the engine.
Any suggestions out there would be very appreciated,
Many thanks Gary
