185kw at the wheels for a 6 with the stage6 pack.Correct me if im wrong but doesnt this work out to be around 260KW at the engine?????
If this is the case how does this guy manage to get more outta the 4.0L without forced induction as CAPA claim 240KW with a blower.
I think its is great if he can but i wont be one of the first to rush out with my $4200.Id like to see a car for some sort of proof as the figures sound very high.

i mean i wouldnt mind a stage 6 with a full rebuild...but yeah is it guranteed.

also i noticed that the test car is an EF.... my ED has a different manifold, and probably a few other differences... so will he be abl e to get the same power output?

Appartenly yes, best to give him a call, his numbers at the bottom of the article. I rang him this morning and he is very helpful.

Im starting on the DEV1 kit than upgrading to the DEV4 or 5 when I can afford it, he said i'll only have to pay the difference between the two kits.

He also metioned that the KW are actually underrated.

Dont know Steve, though it does state that the DEV6 idles very rough, only recommened for racing, not an everyday driving car....

I think the DEV5 was the highest recommened for everyday driving...or maybe 5a.....

To be honest I dont know a great deal about engines, trying to find something to do with my EL and this looks good.

Im glad u guys have said he sounds ok,i know through my Valiants,that there were shonks around trying to flog off new ideas.
Certainly some food for thought as the insurance companies would only need to know u brought the car stock from the previous owner and as far as u r concerned its all factory stock but for some reason goes alot faster :)

there test car is a Dev5a i believe, and is meant to be very impreseive, is rated at 175kw, and has ample amounts of power to have fun with

dev6 isnt meant for street use, unless you want your car swaying at idle, and having to wait for it to come on cam

also no puter mods are done, so get a unichip to tune it, and ur looking at more.

BTW, power is found in the head, and cam, the standard items are pretty restrictive. And its a full head port, with matched cam profile.

Friends 308 pushes 200rwkw, and has only got headwork done to it. so im sure a 250 6 can get a fair amount from it too

Read performance Ford mag, thers a 180kw supercharged ef.

Basically you supercharge any ef 4.0 without changin the computer or even the cam and you will get 170kw + at the rear wheels.. :)

This Guy your talkin about who does the DEV (development stages) for the 4.0 litre OHC Ford motor is Jim Mock Motorsport based in Altona Victoria. He also does the 4.1 EFI pushrod motors and claims to get 175Kw at the motor, not to shabby for a six pot. For the work he does he doesn't have to change the computers on the Ford sixes as he has special cams developed for them. Sound to good to be true, give Jim Mock a call he's in Altona.
