Hi everybody I own an EF '95 XR6 and was wondering if anyone could tell me where i should go in melbourne for an exhaust system, hi flow cat and extractors package ? How much should i be looking at paying for this ? and also how much KW gain would i expect from this ? Also does anyone know where I can get my hands on a used or aftermarket tickford bodykit if they are made?

I don't live in melbourne, so i can't point you to any reputable companies. So i'd just suggest you go to many different places, to get quotes, and compare the services that some may provide -- eg, free pickup and delivery of vehicle etc.

As far as brands go, I would think genie or lukey. Both reputable brands and good systems. I've heard that you should get stainless steel extractors if you want to avoid problems along way down the track(unless this fella wanted to rip me off), as the other type mild steel, can rust after a while.

IMO unless your gonna have the car for years and years, i say just go a mild steel system you should have no troubles - but thats just me - some ppl like the shiny stuff though!

just to give you an idea, I got walker extractors, hi flow cat and 2.5' pipes on my eb with a stainless tip for around $700 (cant remember exact price). I did get quoted upto $1100 for the same system else where, so definately shop around.

Gains were huge, because when i got the car initially it came with a custom made crushed cat (you haven seen a cat this squished before i can assure you!!!) so you really could tell the difference. the extractors make the biggest difference though - e series manifolds are really restrictive.

I just had a full system done by Midas in Ferntree Gully, they were a good bunch of people, and did a pretty good job.
I have pics in the showroom section if you wanna check out details of what I got done.

I drive an EL Futura(auto), there is definately an element of drone,, but its right in the middle of gears at cruising speeds, so doing 60,70,80,100 etc, there is really not that much in-cabin noise. (getting to those speeds sounds sweet tho!)
I got stainless steel headers, and the rest mild stell, cost me just under a grand
