Re: Please help!!

That depends on how you plan on driving it and how the engine is setup with which transmission. 2.37 will have a slower pick up, but will cruise at a lower RPM at high speed. With that gear ratio, depending on how it's set up, you may end up bogging down on take off.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

Re: Please help!!

Yah I'm not sure what's trans. What ever came in the 99stang gt. right now I'm running a v6 rear end. And my buddy found the rear diff with 2.37 he said more torque lol i dont know. It was in a 5.0 95 stang. My engine has a lil more added like k&n air filter and three and half inch flow master. Long headers. I jut want this v6. One tire fire out of my stang. The 2.37. Gears have lock on it so could get both tires spinning again but I'm not sure about the ratio. I was hoping to get 3.37 r3.55 I think them be better hey ????

Re: Please help!!

Higher geared = lower numbers like a 2.37 = slower take off and lower revs at cruising speed.

Lower geared = higher number like a 3.73 = faster take off and higher revs at cruising speeds.

A Mustang GT definitely needs to be lower geared unless you're wanting to improve mileage. You probably want to pass on the 2.37 rear end.

I think the V6 came with a 3.31 rear ratio so 2.37 is not so good. You would be lucky to pull a pork chop off a greasy plate with the 2.37.

Around 3.50 or even 3.73 would be a better if you want to do skids.

Re: Please help!!

That's still pretty high geared for a GT mustang. Won't be much in the way of take off power. Probably worse that the one you have right now if its the stock v6 rear-end. Like Big Block Ford said, around 3.50 or even 3.73 would be better if you want to do skids.
