Has anyone with an EF Falcon/XR6 had their head ported and polished?
Do you get alot of gain out of it? I've got a stage 2 crow cam and a K&N Filter and extractors/exhaust. what kind of price are we looking at for a porting and polishing? Once I was quoted $1000 for a port and polish.
are there different levels of porting and polishing?
can anyone recomend a place in Perth?

Anyone who does port/polishing will charge a hefty price. Coz its gotta be done right, especially if you want match ported-ports. This entales the manifold and head being specifically ported to the exact size to lessen air resistance and give a better flowing head. As an example I had my 4V heads matchported and polished and it cost me $550. But that was mates rates. Any business is bound to charge for their overheads etc.

I got a bench flow test at around 600-700cfm i think total..the car was quick and i was able to do 13.2 quarter. So it was still driveable on the street (just-stage 5 cam) and I could take to the drags and be comfortable in the notion that it would pull some good times. It does make a difference I think, but $1000 isnt to bad for maybe a second or two. But like I said if it was you doing the p/p job, I can assure you that you would want your money for the time that it takes to bring up a set of match ports together.

that story is of my au cylinder head going on to my turbo ea motor look at :- update on project. for more info

the head is now flowing a full 381hp now after being assembled but this porting ended up costing me 1200 for porting alone plus 300 for valves 300 for springs and 300 for retainers 78 for new lifters and 500 for a cam to make the most if it all so thats like $2678.00 dollars all up the only reason why it has costed me so much id because of the fact i am the first one to have an au cylinder head opened up so far!!! lol and due to the fact that the cam has such huge numbers to it it required custom springs and retains and collets.

keep in mind that the ports werent opened up that far it was more about having them hog out in the pathways to improve flow whilst still having a high gas flow speeds.
