hey all,

up for sale is my old mans powerchip chip module. removed from his 1992 ltd 5.0lt v8. will fit all v8 windsor's running eec-v.

bought for 650 dollars new, and my old man is asking $350 ono.

better fuel economy and 15kw gain and 21 nm of torque and 0.3 sec gain over the quater.

tested by australian road and track magazine on a stock ford fairlane nc v8 5lt

0-100kmph stock- 10.04 sec chipped-8.96 sec
standing 1/4 mile stock-16.58 sec chipped- 16.47sec
60-100kmph 1st/2nd stock- 5.42 chipped- 4.96 sec
80-120kmph 2nd/3rd stock- 6.59 chipped- 5.15 sec

Joe, how tunable are these? I'd be interested if they can be easily tuned everytime I change something.

i dont really know,

the installer said it can be tuned at a later date to suit mods, but it has to be sent to them so they can upload a new program, so i dont know how effective it would be.

what this chip does is add a bit extra fuel and ignition timing as well.

the litriture hear says, these chips are optimised for cars with a good filter and exhaust.

1992 v8's run eec-iv, not eec-v dont they? i'm fairly sure my v8 fairlane runs 4.

also, does anyone know what a 'box code' is? According to CAPA (superchip reseller) its needed to program your car properly - any ideas?

yes it is for a eec-iv, sorry my bad, i done a typo,

blu oval, powerchip says 20 min instalation time, and yes it come all instructions and litriture.
